To determine the height of building by Sextant .
Apparatus Required
Sextant measuring tape , chalk.
Formula Used
Where h1 is the height of building above the
eye level mark d , is the distance between the two points of observation on
ground θ2 is the angular elevation of object at first
or nearest point of observation θ1 is the angular elevation of object at the
second or farthest point of observation .
H = h1 + h2
H is the total height of distant object from the ground h2 is the height of mark from the ground h1 is the height of building a the eye level (mark)

Calculation
Result
The height of the second flour of building is 11.22m.
Precautions
The scale should be vertical.
The enter city of two images should be same.
The height of referernce mark and axis of telescope
should be the same.
